According to new evidence from the third phase of ASI excavations, the Harappan civilization was around 7,000 to 8,000 years old.
Researchers from Deccan College Pune and the Central Archaeological Survey of India have discovered human remains at Rakhigarhi hamlet in Haryana.
1st phase, Dr. Amarendra Nath's 1997-2000 excavations at Rakhigarhi revealed evidence of the North Harappan culture dating back to 2500 BC.
2nd phase, Professor Vasant Shinde conducted the second phase of excavations at RakhiGarhi from 2006-2013, revealing over 4,000-year-old culture.
3rd phase, ASI and Deccan College Pune have collaborated for two years to complete the third phase of excavations at Rakhigarhi.
