Japan creates first mental image with AI

By MindStick

Japanese scientists claim to have created the world's first mental image of objects and landscapes using AI technology.

Scientists captured recognisable photos of a leopard and an aeroplane with red lights on its wings.

Brain decoding technology allows for the display of visual content based on brain activity, and has potential to improve medical and welfare domains.

Researchers used fMRI and AI to analyse 1,200 images of objects and landscapes, examining brain signals and their correlation with the images.

This technology could aid in creating communication devices and offer insights into the brain's mechanisms of hallucinations and dreams.

The research was recently published in the international scientific journal Neural Networks online.
