Is hand sanitizer better than soap?

By Anjita D.

Both hand sanitizer and soap effectively remove germs from hands, but soap is considered better and more effective.

Hand sanitizer only destroys some bacteria and viruses, whereas soap effectively removes germs such as viruses, bacteria, and fungi.

If soap and water are not available, use a hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol as a substitute.

Apply hand sanitizer to all surfaces, including fingers and nails, rub hands together for 20 seconds, and let them air dry completely.

Always wash your hands before eating, after blowing your nose with soap and water, and after using the restroom.
