Why did nail polish invented?

Nail polish was invented by 3000 BCE in ancient China and was used as a symbol of wealth and rank among the higher classes.

Ancient Egyptians used natural substances like henna, beeswax, and egg whites to create nail lacquer, viewing groomed nails as a symbol of beauty.

Whereas henna, a reddish-brown natural dye from the henna plant, was used in ancient India for body art, hair dye, and nail polish for centuries.

Later, nail polish, popular in Europe and the Middle East, gained US popularity in the 19th century, but modern invention occurred in the 1920s.

In 1925, French beauty artist Michelle Menard invented the first liquid nail polish, blending vehicle paint with pigments and chemicals.
