Is jaggery healthy?

Jaggery has been utilised as a beneficial medicinal material as well as a sweetener for ages in India, China, Japan, and other South-east Asia.

It contains rich mineral and antioxidant content, derived from sugarcane or palm sap, is a better alternative to refined sugar.

It is beneficial for digestive health, liver detoxification, anaemia prevention, immunity, and traditional pain relief for menstrual cramps.

Despite being a kind of sugar, jaggery should be used in moderation.

Excess jaggery consumption can result in weight gain, teeth damage, and other health issues.
