Japan volcano eruption occur 2023

By MindStick

October 21, 2023, an undersea volcano erupted off Iwo Jima, forming a 100-meter-diameter, 20-meter-high island under construction.

The volcano is located about one km south of Iwo Jima, which is part of the Ogasawara island chain in the western Pacific.

The phreatomagmatic eruption is caused by magma-water contact and results in ash plumes up to 50 metres tall.

It has pushed up oil and commodity prices, harming the global economy by lowering consumer confidence and investment.

The long-term effects of the eruption are still being studied by scientists, and it clearly had a considerable impact on the Japan region.
