Unique looking Atlantic cutlassfish

By Anjita D.

The Atlantic cutlassfish also known as Trichiurus lepturus, is a strange-looking fish that lives in the Atlantic Ocean.

It has its long, slender body, big eyes, and razor-sharp fangs, can reach 6 feet in length and weigh up to 100 pounds.

To communicate and attract mates, they engage in "ribbon dancing," swimming side by side with undulating bodies.

They glide through water quickly because of its long, thin ribbon-like body, big head, and pointed snout.

They can live in a range of environments and reach depths of up to 1,000 feet.
