Why do we celebrate Diwali and the purpose behind it?

Diwali, a "Festival of Lights" is a grand celebration with ancient Indian roots, renowned for its religious and cultural significance.

It is also known as Deepawali, is a major Hindu holiday observed in India, Nepal, and other Asian countries.

In northern India, it celebrates Lord Rama's return from exile and victory over Ravana, symbolising the triumph of righteousness over wickedness.

In southern India, it celebrates Lord Krishna's victory over Narakasura, symbolising knowledge triumphing over ignorance and darkness.

Deepawali represents optimism, rejuvenation, the triumph of good over evil, fostering inner peace, spiritual enlightenment and morality.
