Who introduced credit cards worldwide?

By MindStick

The BankAmericard was the first credit card issued in the United States by Bank of America in 1958 in California.

There were other charge cards in use prior to the BankAmericard, such as the Diners Club Card (1949) and the American Express Card (1958).

However, at first, these cards were only available to certain sorts of establishments, such as restaurants and travel agencies.

It is expanding globally. In 1970, it licensed the brand, forming Visa International, a global credit card network.

Visa is one of the world's major credit card networks, with over 3.9 billion cards in circulation in over 200 countries and territories.
