Around 3,000 to 4,000 years ago, the first known scissors were believed to be invented in Mesopotamia.
It had two blades connected by a flexible bronze strip that closed when handles were pressed together and opened when handles were released.
Whereas, in India, scissors may be dated back to the Indus Valley Civilisation (c. 3300-1300 BC), where they were composed of copper and bronze.
Around 100 AD, the Romans devised a new style of scissors with pivoted blades that remained unchanged for almost 1,900 years.
Despite its origin, it is a significant invention in human history, utilised in various trades and professions, and playing a vital role in daily life
