Why diabetes increasing in India?

Recent decades, Indians are adopting Western diets, resulting in increased obesity and central adiposity, leading to diabetes risk factors.

Overweight and obese people are more likely to live in cities, as are sedentary habits and restricted access to healthful meals.

Because of genetic predisposition & rapid epidemiological shift caused by increased sanitation & healthcare, people are more susceptible to diabetes.

India's chronic stress, air pollution, lack of awareness contribute to insulin resistance, increased diabetes risk.

The Indian government has launched public awareness campaigns for diabetes treatment, but more efforts are needed to prevent its occurrence.
