Unique creature feather starfish

By MindStick

Feather starfish (comatulids) are marine invertebrates in the Crinoidea class, closely related to sea lilies but lacking a stalk and being free-moving

They can be upto 150 cm long arms covered in tiny cilia, creating water currents that draw food particles towards their mouth.

They are found globally, play a vital role in the marine ecosystem by filtering food particles and providing food for other animals like fish and crab

With relics reaching back over 500 million years, feather starfish are among the oldest organisms on the earth.

They can swim by beating their arms and have the ability to change colour to camouflage themselves from predators.
