Why did dial telephone invented?

By MindStick

Almon Brown Strowger invented the dial phone in 1891. Strowger worked as a mortician and was dissatisfied with the local phone service.

He believed that operators favored their friends and family and wished for a way to make phone calls without having to contact an operator.

He invented a dial telephone system that connected callers to the individuals they wanted to speak with through a series of switches.

He patented the invention in 1891, and the first commercial dial telephone exchange was established in La Porte, Indiana, in 1892.

Hence, the dial telephone quickly became the industry standard, and it is still used in many parts of the world today.
