History of maggi

By MindStick

Maggi's history begins in 1869, when Julius Maggi took over his father's mill in Kemptthal, Switzerland.

He was a foresighted businessman who realised the potential of industrial food production to enhance the diets of working-class households.

Maggi introduced his first product, a powdered pea and bean soup mix, in 1884.

His instant food products, including soups, seasonings & bouillon cubes, revolutionized the industry, making the company a top European food producer.

Nestlé, a Swiss multinational food and beverage corporation, purchased Maggi in 1947. It was originally introduced to the Indian market in 1982.
