Island of garbage

By MindStick

The Great Pacific Garbage Patch, a vast accumulation of marine waste in the North Pacific Ocean, is colloquially known as the "island of garbage."

It is a distributed mass of plastic and other marine detritus that is continually moving and changing.

It is an extremely serious environmental issue. In a variety of ways, plastic trash can affect marine life.

Unfortunately, plastic trash injures or kills animals, and it might be mistaken for food, resulting in digestive blockage and starvation.

Also, microplastics, which can be consumed by marine animals and accumulate in their tissues, can contain toxic compounds that leach into the ocean.
