The Portuguese man o' war (Physalia physalis) is a marine hydrozoan found in the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian Ocean.
It's a siphonophore, a colonial creature made up of numerous smaller units called zooids.
Each zooid has a unique purpose, such as floating, collecting prey, feeding, or breeding.
The feeding zooids sting and paralyse their victim with their tentacles.
It is a carnivorous animal that eats small fish and crustaceans.
