Prakash Amte is a Maharashtra-based social worker. He is the second son of Baba Amte, a well-known social worker and Ramon Magsaysay Award recipient.

He has advocated against discrimination & violence against tribal communities in India, raising awareness & writing several books about communities.
He is a well-known Indian leader, receiving the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Population Leadership in 2008 for his outstanding work.
