How did philosophy begin?

Philosophy began with the first human enquiry into the nature of existence. This might have happened anywhere in the world, at any moment in history.

The first recorded examples of philosophy date back to the sixth century BCE in ancient Greece.

Moreover, in the Vedic period (c. 1500-500 BCE) is the origin of Indian philosophy, where the Upanishads, the oldest surviving texts, were written.

The origins of Chinese philosophy can be found in the Spring and Autumn period (771-476 BCE) and the Warring States period (475-221 BCE).

Islamic philosophy originated in the eighth century CE, influenced by Greek, Indian, and Persian philosophy.
