Origin of KFC

By MindStick

KFC, or Kentucky Fried Chicken, is a multinational fast food corporation best known for its fried chicken and KFC origin dates back to the 1930s.

Harland Sanders, an entrepreneur who started selling fried chicken from a roadside eatery in Corbin, Kentucky, during Great Depression, developed KFC.

In 1952, the first KFC franchise opened in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the brand swiftly spread across the United States.

In 1964, Sanders sold KFC to investors led by John Y. Brown Jr. and Jack C. Massey, leading to rapid expansion and over 3,000 restaurants worldwide.

KFC was purchased by PepsiCo in 1986, allowing it to expand internationally and become the world's largest fast-food business.
