Difference between grasshopper and cricket

By Anjita D.

Grasshoppers are larger than crickets and have lengthy legs and antennae. Crickets have shorter legs and antennae, as well as larger bodies.

Grasshoppers are available in several colours, including green, brown, and yellow. Crickets are usually black or brown in colour.

The grasshopper's song is louder and more strident, whilst the cricket's song is softer & more chirping.

Grasshoppers reside in open regions such as meadows, fields, and grasslands. Crickets can be found in woods, woodlands, and even urban areas.

Grasshoppers are more generalist feeders, consuming leaves, flowers, and seeds, while crickets prefer softer plants.
