The Palaeolithic Age, commonly known as the Old Stone Age, was the first and longest period of human history, lasting 2.5 million years - 11,700 years
The use of stone tools and the development of complex hunting and gathering cultures characterised it.
They were nomadic, travelling from one location to the next in search of food and water.
They lived in small groups of 20-50 individuals & were highly cooperative, sharing resources & food, as well as having complex social & rituals.
Moreover, the Palaeolithic Age came to an end with the development of agriculture and the passage into the Neolithic Age.
