By MindStick

The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) was published in 1884 and has been regularly updated since then.

Sir James Murray, a Scottish lexicographer, founded the Oxford English Dictionary.

After reading a book about the history of the English language, Murray was inspired to develop the Oxford English Dictionary.

The OED was first published in four volumes in 1884. It was a massive project that took over 70 years to complete.

Today, the OED is a wonderful resource for anyone interested in learning more about the English language.
