Facts about Indian Gaur

The Indian gaur (Bos gaurus), often known as the Indian bison, is the world's largest living bovine species.

It is native to South and South-east Asia and is classified as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List.

Gaurs are herbivores who eat mostly grasses, leaves, and fruits.

They are social animals that dwell in herds of up to 50 individuals.

Unfortunately, they face a variety of problems, including habitat degradation, poaching, and conflict with humans.
