The Mariana snailfish (Pseudoliparis swirei) is a species of snailfish found in the Mariana Trench in the western Pacific Ocean.
In its deep-sea home, it is a relatively numerous species.
It lays eggs that are nearly 1 cm (0.4 in) in diameter.
They have several adaptations that enable them to survive in the harsh environment of the deep sea.
They eat tiny crustaceans. It appears to be the dominant predator along several portions of the Mariana Trench.
