Oldest fish in the world

By MindStick

The Greenland shark is the oldest fish in the world, with a 392-year-old female specimen being the oldest ever discovered.

Greenland sharks are slow-growing and long-lived fish, with some scientists suggesting they can live for more than 500 years.

They live in the cold waters of the North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans.

They also have an extremely powerful immune system, which helps them fight sickness.

Scientists are unsure why Greenland sharks live so long, but they suspect that their slow metabolism and cold-water habitat play a factor.
