Amazing facts about volcano snail

By MindStick

The volcanic snail, commonly known as the scaly-foot gastropod, is the only animal that has iron sulphide incorporated into its bones.

They are found at deep-sea hydrothermal vents, which are places where the ocean floor erupts with hot, mineral-rich water.

The temperature of the water at these vents can reach 750 degrees Fahrenheit (400 degrees Celsius), and the pressure is enormous.

Volcano snails are critically endangered and rare.

They can only be found at a few hydrothermal vents across the planet.
