Steve Irwin was a zookeeper, conservationist, TV personality, and wildlife educator from Australia.
At his parents' wildlife park, he grew up surrounded by crocodiles and other reptiles, and he developed a strong love and respect for all creatures.
Irwin's work raised awareness of wildlife conservation issues and encouraged millions of people worldwide to learn more about animals & their habitats
After being stung by a stingray while making a documentary, Irwin died unexpectedly at the age of 44 in 2006.
Irwin's legacy lives on through his family and the Australia Zoo's activities.
