The Shoebill is a big wading bird found in East African swamps and marshes.
It is recognised for its unusual shoe-shaped bill, which it utilises to catch fish, frogs, lizards, and other small animals.
They make their nests on floating vegetation, and both parents incubate the eggs and care for the babies.
They can reach a height of 5 feet and a wingspan of up to 8 feet.
Due to habitat loss and hunting, shoebills are becoming extinct. Pollution and climate change are also a threat to them.
