Why do we feel sleepy after eating?

Food digestion requires a lot of energy. When you eat, your body directs blood and oxygen to your stomach and intestines to aid digestion.

Avoid eating heavy meals before bed. Give your body at least two hours to digest a meal before going to sleep.

Eating a huge dinner before bedtime can upset your circadian cycle and make you feel tired.

Exercise can help to improve your sleep quality. Avoid exercising too close to bedtime because it can make falling asleep difficult.

Get enough sleep around 7-8 hours of sleep per night.
