Barren Island is an active volcano located in the Andaman Sea, about 135 km northeast of Port Blair, India.
Only active volcano along a chain of volcanoes from Sumatra to Myanmar.
It has erupted numerous times over the past few centuries. The most recent eruption began in 2018 and is still ongoing.
It is a small, uninhabited island with a diameter of about 3 km.
The island is also home to a variety of wildlife, including birds, bats, and rats.
