Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas that regulates glucose metabolism in the body.

It allows cells to take up glucose from the bloodstream, lowerng blood sugar level, and providing essential energy for cells to function properly.

Types of Insulin:

Several types of Insulin are available, categorized based on their onset, peak, & duration of action:

Rapid-Acting :- Begins working within 15 minutes, peaks in 1-2 hours, lasts for 2-4 hours.

Short-Acting :- Start working within 30 minute, peaks in 2-3 hours and lasts for 3-6 hours.

Intermediate- Acting :- Onset within 1-2 hours, peaks in 4-12 hours and lasts for 12-18 hours.

Long-Acting: Slowand steady release over 1-2 hours, with no peak and lasts for upto 24 hours.
