After being postponed for nearly fifty days, normal rail service has resumed on a few routes. Currently, AC trains are operating from Delhi for 15 places, whose fare is equal to superfast trains.
Later trains will run in a phased manner and also on routes. While this decision is being welcomed, on the one hand, many kinds of apprehensions are being raised about it.
It is being questioned that when the lockdown continues, then suddenly there is a need to open the railway service. Does the railway have adequate arrangements to conduct a thorough check of all passengers, monitor them and prevent any kind of negligence?
The truth is that apart from the laborers, there are many more people, who are stuck in different cities due to the sudden lockdown. A large number of students are there.
Apart from this, there are some people who came to their relatives for some reason and had to stay there. Many people are stuck in Delhi or other cities due to business and other things.
Their troubles were increasing as the lockdown progressed. Apart from this, there may be many people who are suffering from some other disease and want to get treatment in AIIMS or elsewhere in Delhi.
There may also be many elders whose children live in Delhi and they want to visit their children. Vehicles are being run keeping such sections in mind. During this time, many types of precautions are also being taken. For example, it will be necessary for passengers to wear masks.
Railways will not provide sheets, towels, normal food, drinks etc. as before. At present, only canned food and hand sanitizer will be provided to the passengers. Apart from this, it has been made mandatory for the passengers to download the 'Arogya Setu App' on the phone. Initially there was a discussion that there would be no booking of middle berths but later it was said that all 72 berths would be booked in three tier coaches. How physical distancing will be able to survive in this situation is difficult to say. Railways will have to be strict in this matter.
Ensure that no infected person gets into the car. The passengers themselves also have to be alert. This service may be interrupted if the experience of a vehicle is also negative.
The opening of the railway is not just a transport service back on track. It has linked the livelihood of millions of people. With the resumption of rail service, his life is also back on track.
Expect that the train will start running slowly and also on the routes and passengers will learn how to travel with the Corona crisis.
