What Does Real Minority Mean?

Playing text to speech

Minority means a class, community, group which is having a population less than the rest of the average or general population is called minority.

In the same sequence, the Central Government gave minority status to Parsi in 2014. Many laws change every day in the country so that the basic rights of the people are not violated, everyone should get justice and everyone should have the same rights. But some such system still shows that not everyone has the same rights.

For example, the notification issued by the Central Government on Minorities in 1993 includes Christian, Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist. While there are many places where Hindus are in minority still it is considered as the majority community based on the national population.

There is neither an act where Hinduism has been declared a minority by the Central Government nor by the State Government of any Indian state.

If we track the history then back in 1992, the Minorities Act Commission was formed under the law under which the Central Government decided who is and who is not a minority.

While the majority of Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir are Hindu, the Hindu population is merely 2.5 percent. Yet there is no Hindu minority status, nor do they have any special status. There are attacks on them every day, nor is there any special protection, such as the minority has.

In states such as Mizoram, the Christian population is 96.9 percent, but here also Hindus are considered as majority while being only 2.7 percent of the population. The shocking and sad part is that the Hindu community does not get the facilities that are available to the minority.

Such as financial assistance of ₹ 20,000 for children for government technical studies. Some special exemption is provided to get admission in any state or central government-funded fund education institute.

Despite being the majority, they are taking advantage of the minority. Should the government not consider the Minorities Act once again? Everyone has the same rights as per Article 14, why is there discrimination here? Hindus are not in the same numbers everywhere so just consider the majority community as the other minorities.
